COUPLE COUNSELLING SCOTLAND CHANGED ITS NAME TO RELATE SCOTLAND ON 28 JUNE 2006 .
Over the course of the next twelve months our member local services will also be rebranding to Relate. During this transitional period there is likely to be a combination of names being used eg "Relate, Couple Counselling or Marriage Counselling" until the rebranding exercise has been completed throughout Scotland.

Following an extensive programme of mapping of standards, policies and procedures we have signed a trade mark licence with Relate. We were founded as the Scottish Marriage Guidance Council in 1948, we became Marriage Counselling Scotland in 1990 and then Couple Counselling Scotland in 1998. We came from the same roots and have always essentially been "Relate" in Scotland. Potential clients look us up under 'R' in the phone book and fail to find us. Funders are confused as to who we are. We believe that using Relate Scotland as our operating name will make life easier for clients, staff, counsellors, volunteers and funders.
We remain an independent Scottish Charity; our company name, registered company No.103692 and Scottish Charity Number SC013790 remain the same. Couple Counselling local member services will also change their operating names over the next twelve months.
Couple Counselling Scotland is established for the public benefit. It exists to promote, develop and co-ordinate a confidential counselling service for people in marriage and other intimate personal relationships.
