The course is academically credit rated by Napier University at 15 Credits SCQF level 9.
CCS Accredited Counsellors from member services who have already achieved the Advanced Certificate in Couple Counselling will receive a Diploma in Couple Counselling on successful completion of this module all components of the course. The module consists of six taught weekend modules (75 hours) and 75 hours of directed personal study.

Indicative Content
The role of
the counsellor in health settings; the use of counselling skills in health
settings; the impact of chronic and acute health problems; addictions and
substance abuse; the bio-psychosocial impact of problems on individuals and
couples; coping mechanisms, adaptation and change; professional referral and
liaison issues; counselling practice and evaluation; ethical issues; current
research; personal development opportunities.
Assessment
A poster presentation to the learning
group on a relevant topic, a paper based on the presentation.
